Here's some artwork that I did last school year. Takes a while to get my mom to scan stuff for us, but she promises to be better about it.

Whale

I created this whale sketch for a school project while we were studying the New England States for KONOS with our co-op. We were supposed to be watercoloring, but I like to sketch better. I like this one better than the watercolored drawing I did. I looked at a picture of a humpback whale in the Barnes & Noble "Under the Sea" Discoveries book to draw it.

I like whales even though they aren't my favorite animal. I had a dream once that I was riding a whale in a scuba suit. I love the part in Nemo where the krill tell Marlin and Dory to "swim away!" because the whale is coming. Interestingly, I found out during this study that Dolphins are a type of whale, too. I like Dolphins better. They seem to be more interesting. I saw Shamu at Sea World when I was younger and he was as smart as a Dolphin. I was sad to hear that he hurt his trainer.

One of the neatest whale sites on the net is Whalesounds.com - where you can listen to whale noises. There's also a whale poetry contest going on at Save the Whales. I think I might submit a poem (my mom wants me to).

My Art

I know it has been a long time since I have posted, but I wasn't so sure about this blog thing. My sister really is in to blogging and stuff, but I wasn't all that crazy about it. My mom wants me to learn how to do it and use it for school stuff... but I really want to use it for my artwork. I think she'll let me do both. So I plan to share my illustrations with you all. I love looking at art blogs that have cool drawings, so if you know some that are kid-rated, please leave me a comment and share the links. If you have some drawings you would like me to see, you can tell me that, too!

Here's a cat that I did some time this school year. I need to start adding dates to my artwork, but I usually forget that stuff. My mom is good about reminding me when she sees what I'm working on. I like to draw cats in armor, machinery, and Egyptian artifacts. Lots of things, really. Whatever I like at the moment. I even draw while the preacher is doing his sermon at church (but I promise, I'm still listening - mom!).

Here's the cat. What do you think? I wish I knew how to color and tweak it on the computer. Anyone want to donate a copy of Photoshop? Just kidding.

My Brother in India

Our family sponsors a child in India. We write to him back and forth.
He calls us "Auntie Heather","Uncle Kevin","Brother Kaden" and "Sister Morgan". He also
calls our cat "Pet cat Minga". He is 13. He writes in Tamil and speaks Tamil. He
tells us about India. We have learned things like: "vanakkam" is "hello" in Tamil, and the capital
of India is New Delhi. We call him "our brother overseas".

Merry Christmas for 2007. This is Momomimic Creator, Kaden here. My mom is Sprittibee and my sister is Mees-Alees. My mom wants us to do some projects online to help us with our typing, so we got to create our own blogs.

I'm in fifth grade and my sister is in fourth. We have spiral notebook journals that we work in and we take typing lessons on the computer. This project is our online journal. I'm going to use mine to type out my favorite poems, do reports, share some codes for my favorite video games, and just write for fun. I'm hoping to meet some other blogging kids my age, too.

I like cats, Star Wars, video games, Legos, xbox, my friends, my family, Jesus, Shel Silverstein poems, bugs, rocks, reading, snow, campfires, and Christmas. I have six sets of grandparents, so Christmas is really fun. We get to go visit most of them every year - or they come to see us. Oh, and I also love Root Beer and sweets.
